The Sponsor An Animal Program gives you an opportunity to see a particular animal make its way through the shelter system with success. It is the way you can personally help an animal without taking them home yourself.

By choosing to adopt from us, you are helping an animal in our community who would otherwise not have a home. Shelter animals are special and the time we have dedicated to their upcoming adoption makes them even more special, since each of our animals receives individual training and care from our dedicated staff and volunteers.

When joining the program, you will be sent photos, a description, and the story of a particular animal who needs your special help. You will receive a weekly update of how the animal is doing and will be notified when the animal has found their new home. In this way, you will know exactly how and where your monthly donation is being utilized and be able to experience each success story first hand. When your animal has been adopted, you will be sent another animal who will benefit from your help. You may cancel your sponsorship at any time.

If you prefer to give a one-time sponsorship, you can help an animal become spayed or neutered and help reduce animal populations in Taos. Or, you can ask for current information and sponsor an animal in need of special medical care or a particular medical procedure.

You will receive a picture, description, and the story of the animal you will be helping with your one-time sponsorship. You will be apprised of the animal's progress and when the animal is adopted.
