Sometimes dogs are afraid of being leashed, due to the fact that things around their neck has meant pain in the past.
Here you see our Stray Hearts Behavioral Lead working with Lady Elizabeth (“Lady Liz”) to gain confidence and to form positive associations with a slip lead.
Lady Elizabeth came to us very fearful of people and very afraid of being leashed. Look how excited she is to put her head through the leash now!
This is just some of the important work our Stray Hearts Behavioral Team does weekly to help the animals in our care.
